THE CLIENT BRIEF
JMH was offered to tender for a 6.5Km scheme starting from Jaguar Land Rover at Fen End works and finishing at the discharge manhole at the end of Chase Lane, Kenilworth. This scheme would entail JMH providing a full turnkey package for the client.
OUR SOLUTION
JMH looked at the project and worked out a cost effective way of completing the scheme on budget. JMH broke down the work force into 3 teams including a drilling team, a civils crew and a welding crew. All teams were solely responsible for their own parts of the project but also there to help other crews if needed as one big workforce. This was a key to success for the scheme to be delivered as requested.
THE CHALLENGES
JMH were face with several challenges through this 20 week scheme from bad weather at the start to the project to being land locked from every field which slowed the teams down with the movement of plant and materials. Once in our stride and with most of the hurdles under control we began the work on Chase Lane. A narrow single dead end lane running for approx. 3.5km of the works. This posed several challenges of its own, with two large businesses on this lane we had to maintain road access for the residents and the businesses alike. We finally came up with a plan to drill field to field avoiding the road at all costs which saw some 400m drills to achieve this idea. But with the right equipment and the right men this was acheieved.
COMPLETE SUCCESS
JMH completed this scheme on time and on budget with a very happy customer.
